Polish adoption group?

I came across this website and I wondered if anyone has ever been to any of their events. There was a picnic here in IL last weekend. I saw that they have meetings in other states as well.

  1. They do not have a group in our state but I heard that they have an online group for people from any state. I tried contacting them months ago about the online group but never received a response.

  2. I saw that website before too, although I just assumed those families were connected through that adoption agency. I imagine anyone would be able to join the "community" though, it sounds like a nice, active group. Based on Heidi's comment though, maybe it's a "closed" community? Not sure. Will be curious to read other feedback to find out also.

  3. We're in Texas and there is no group here either.

  4. As an FYI - you can still attend meetings and be a part of the PAPA groups without being affiliated with the agency. There is indeed an online group that is being formed, but it is still in the infancy stages. Shoot me an email and I can try to get you more information.

If there is one in your area, I highly recommend checking it out. Even if used a different agency, the support once you get home is invaluable. And for the kids too. My Chris loves knowing that there are kids nearby who were also adopted from Poland, even if we only see them once and a while.

  6. Someone had told me about their national annual picnic in NJ, but I had no idea they had one right by me! I can't believe it was down the street from my parents' house last week.
